# How to Use AI for Creating and Updating Social Media Posts in Your Engage Dashboard

## This guide explains how to leverage AI functionality in the Engage Dashboard to create new social media posts and modify existing ones efficiently.

### Creating a Post Using AI

1. **Initiate Post Creation**: In the Social tab of your Engage Dashboard, click the **Create Post** button.
2. **Select Channels**: Choose the social media channels where you want to publish the post.
3. **Access AI Post Ideas**:
   
     - In the **Initial content** box, click the purple **AI** button and select **Post Ideas**.
     - A **Post Ideas** pop-up will appear on the left-hand side.
4. **Generate Post Ideas**:
   
     - Browse suggested topics or search for a specific topic (e.g., “car insurance”).
     - Customize the post by including optional elements: **Emojis**, **Hashtags**, or **Image suggestions**. Deselect any element by clicking its purple checkbox.
     - Click the arrow icon to generate the post.
5. **Add Images (Optional)**: If you selected image suggestions, choose an image from the provided options.
6. **Insert the Post**: Click the purple **Insert** button in the top-right corner to add the post to your content.
7. **Apply Tags (Optional)**: Add tags to organize, filter, and report on your social media content.
8. **Configure Approval Workflows**:
   
     - Requirements vary by channel (selected in step 2). Ensure all are completed before posting.
     - Customize posts per platform by clicking the platform’s name to make specific edits.
     - **Note for Google Business Profile**: Remove personalization tokens (e.g., business name, phone number, website URL) as they are not allowed in posts.
9. **Schedule or Publish**:
   
     - Click **Schedule Post** to set a future date and time. You can schedule the same time across platforms or customize per platform.
     - To publish immediately, click the dropdown arrow on the **Schedule Post** button and select **Post Now**.
     - To save as a draft, select **Save as Draft** from the dropdown.
     - To reuse the post later, check the box to add it to your **post library**.

### Updating a Post Using AI

1. **Edit Post Content**: After adding content to a post, click the purple **AI** button.
2. **Modify the Post**:
   
     - Under the **Modify** section, adjust the following:
       
           - **Tone**: Choose from Friendly, Witty, Descriptive, Informative, or Formal.
           - **Length**: Make the post shorter or longer.
           - **Spelling and Grammar**: Fix errors for polished content.
3. **Apply Changes**: Once modifications are complete, proceed to schedule, publish, or save the post as described above.
