Is It A Good Idea To Put An Email Address On My Site?

The short answer is "No."

The longer answer is that spammers get your email address many different ways. One of the most common ways is by using a technique called “scraping.” This is where a spammer uses a "bot," an automated program that crawls through websites to look for known email address patterns such as “user@domain.com,” “user at domain dot com,” and a variety of other common formats.

Once the bot finds an address, it adds it to its email list. While being on a single spam list may not sound like a big deal, spammers frequently trade their contacts back and forth, meaning you may soon find yourself receiving junk emails from dozens or even hundreds of spam contacts.

If you post your email address on your website, it is only a matter of time before a spam bot crawls the site and adds your information to its database.

BrightFire recommends advising your customers to use the standard contact form that is included with every site if they need to get in touch with you and they don't already have your business email address.
